2014-12-29 11:28:13 (FILES) This file photo taken on December 29, 2014 shows steam rises from a coke producing plant in Bottrop, western Germany.
The air has never been as polluted by carbon dioxide (CO2), the main greenhouse gas, as in 2015, with an average concentration of 400 ppm (parts per million) in the atmosphere, a symbolic threshold record, according to a report by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) issued on October 24, 2016. The report was released before the negotiations on climate change, to be held in Marrakech (Morocco) from November 7 to 18, 2016. / AFP PHOTO / PATRIK STOLLARZ
